When start-up SLPY approached us, all they had was a product, a logo and a website. This fledgling brand was born around a campfire. Their product, the Sleepy, is a wearable sleeping bag. Our challenge was to bring the Sleepy’s functionality to life.
As well as an off-the-page print campaign to drive sales, we created a video to run online. It had to reflect the bright, fun, quirky nature of the product, while showcasing its multi-function possibilities. So we held a casting session for dancers in the primary audience’s age group. With our cast assembled, cameras rolled and tunes cranked up. We captured the dancers moving effortlessly in Sleepys. Highlighting its perfect fit for festivals and camping.
Following the success of that activity, SLPY asked us to help launch their Kickstarter campaign, as they seek funding to develop new models and shift manufacturing to the UK. This time we showed the Sleepy in its natural habitat – the outdoors. The film was colour graded to create a vintage feel. This helped to tap into the market for all things nostalgic and British.
The three days we spent filming with the team at IMA were fun filled and dynamic. The planning was meticulous and the vision from the outset led to great material being captured. The final brand video exceeded our expectations, its fair to say the staff really did make it happen!
