The Royal Star and Garter Homes
Since 1916, when the original one was opened, The Royal Star and Garter Homes have been run as a charity for ex-members of the armed services who need nursing and therapeutic care. To fund its specialist care homes around the country the charity relies heavily on donations from the public and the annual Armed Forces Day is a key event in their fundraising calendar.
We ran a direct mail, press and online campaign to tie in with the day. We used the true stories of a number of the homes’ residents who have been helped by the charity to show the vital work done in the homes and to encourage donations.
The result was a big spike in giving, enabling the charity to give even more help to those really in need.
